My name is Michael Fletcher and I live in Murrieta, California. I am married to a wonderful woman I met in high school, Toni, and have a daughter, Erin from a previous marriage. I have a cat, Sheba, a black sleek feline and a dog, Taffy, who is a mix, I think, of Dachschund, Chihuahua and who knows what else; perhaps even a bit of Italian Greyhound from the looks of her ears and body. I love photography, cooking delicious food and visiting Disneyland whenever I get the opportunity.
I attend Harvest Christian Fellowship in Riverside, California where Greg Laurie serves as Senior Pastor. Toni and I were married at Harvest on June 24th, 1994 by pastor Steve Ballinger. We had the honor of being Steve's first official marriage as a pastor.
I am an only child and ethnically half Korean on my mother's side and a mix of English, Irish, Scottish and German on my father's side. My father is retired from the U.S. Army. I was born in Fort Hood, Texas and have lived in South Korea (Seoul), Italy (Vicenza), North Carolina (Fort Bragg), South Carolina (Columbia, Fort Jackson) and California (Riverside, Seaside, Fort Ord, Corona, Murrieta.)
I have been taking pictures since junior high school when I got my first 35mm camera, a Minolta XE-7. After high school, I used a Nikon F3-HP. After many years using a Nikon SLR, I find their cameras comfortable and intuitive. Nikon is also famous for the quality of their lenses which I enjoy very much. I currently shoot entirely in digital with a Nikon D3 in RAW NEF format and post-process using Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 3 and Adobe Photoshop CS5 Extended.

Cooking and food are a passion for me. I can be found watching the Food Network at all times of the day and night. I do most of the cooking in my household, not because my wife can't cook, quite the contrary, but because Toni and Erin love my cooking so much. I didn't start cooking until 1999. I use All-Clad Stainless Steel Cookware and Zwilling J.A. Henckels Four Star knives. I have taken cooking classes at Thornton Winery in Temecula, CA and at Muriel's Supper Club formerly in Palm Springs, CA. Most of my cooking skills are self taught by watching cooking shows and perusing my collection of cookbooks.

I moved to Movable Type because I like the flexibility and features, particularly fully indexed searching of my site and categories. Movable Type is nice, but does require a bit of technical knowledge and a hosted server.
