Fatburger
Tuesday, 3 Aug 2004 | Food, Restaurants
I went to lunch at Fatburger yesterday. I really love their hamburgers and especially their onion rings. The grade of beef and the perfect crispy batter coating on the onions dipped in ketchup are wonderful. They make everything to order after you order.
Why Is It Called Fatburger? - Most people think that it's called Fatburger because the burgers are fattening or laden with fat. Although burgers are certainly not diet food, Fatburgers are made with a better grade of ground beef which is also leaner than the meat used at most fast food restaurants. The reason for fat in the name comes from the use of the word when the restaurant first opened. Back in that day, the word fat was used to refer to something neat, cool or groovy. It was a good thing to be called fat.
On the Char - If you are being health conscious, you can order yours charbroiled instead of grilled. Just say, "Fatburger on the Char." That's the special Fatburger lingo. Or you can order your burger made with ground turkey if as George Foreman says, you really want to cut the fat. If you love french fries more than onion rings, no problem. Just let them know if you prefer fat or skinny fries. ;)
