Na Hoku Hanohano Awards

Thursday, 5 Aug 2004 | Music

I bought numerous Hawaiian music CDs during my stay in Hawaii, furthering my love for Hawaiian music. While perusing the Hawaiian music sections at the NEX at Pearl Harbor and Tower Records, I noticed that some CDs had a sticker indicating it was a winner or nominee in the Hoku awards.

I found out the formal name was Na Hoku Hanohano Awards. The award is presented by the voting members of The Hawaii Academy of Recording Arts (HARA) annually for the best in the music of Hawaii.

Hawaiian CD retailer, Mele.com has a list of Na Hoku Hanohano Award winners that can help to select your Hawaiian music.
