My Jury Duty

Well, my jury duty service was pretty uneventful this time around.

My summons was for Monday, but I didn't have to go in until today. They needed two sets of jurors for cases in the morning and I wasn't called for either. I was kind of hoping to be selected because I find cases to be interesting. The rest of us waited until lunch break. At that time, we were told that there may be two other courts needing jurors after lunch. We returned and waited to find no more jurors were needed. I was free to go at about 3 pm. In California, they use the one day or one case system. If you don't get selected for a jury group on the first day, you are done with your jury service for at least one year.
