Star Wars Trilogy Finally on DVD!

The most anticipated DVD box set is finally here: The Star Wars Trilogy.
I am very excited about this set since I absolutely look back with fond memories viewing Star Wars in the theater as a child. It was a revolutionary experience for me and tons of other fans of the science fiction series. I can't help but be a little disappointed that these are the revised special edition versions of A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi released in theaters in the late 1990's. There are new special effects added by George Lucas, which were not feasible when the films were originally released. The good news is that the video and audio has been improved. I'm sure the debate will go on, but I tend to side with those who wished Lucas would have released the original Star Wars just as we remember watching it in theaters in 1977.
Despite my misgivings about the special editions, I picked up my widescreen copy on the way home from work.
