The Phantom of the Opera

Toni and I saw The Phantom of the Opera tonight at our local theater. We are both fans of the Broadway musical. I have personally seen it performed live three times. The first time was with Michael Crawford playing the Phantom. The second time I saw it with Robert Guillaume as the Phantom. The third time I saw it in San Francisco, but I don't recall who played the phantom.

Overall, we were both pleased with the theatrical rendition of Andrew Lloyd Webber's musical. The movie follows the play fairly closely. I liked the performances of Christine, Raoul, Carlotta and the Phantom of the Opera. I noted that Minnie Driver did not sing her parts as Carlotta, but that didn't take away my enjoyment of her performance.
