Ray Charles Wins Eight Grammys

Ray Charles was the big winner with eight Grammys last night. It's too bad that he wasn't recognized MORE for his musical contribution prior to his death. I've always considered him a legendary performer.

Toni and I had the good fortune to see him perform live in a small venue in Palm Springs a couple of years ago. The concert was held at the now defunct Muriel's supper club where I had taken some cooking classes. We witnessed Mr. Charles' musicianship genious from about twenty feet away with a crowd of perhaps a couple hundred. It's an experience we'll always cherish.
