My Little Vending Machine Fiasco

Today I decided that I couldn't live without a chocolate brownie from the vending machine at work. I put my coins into the machine. This is one of those old-fashioned machines that have the items lined up in a giant corkscrew that rotates to drop your selection to the bottom into a hinged bin which prevents you from sticking your hand up and stealing goodies. A friend once showed me how to use the door at the bottom to cushion the fall of the item by carefully lowering it at the same acceleration as gravity thereby producing a pristine snack. Now I do this very thing every time I use that machine. Thanks SO MUCH for giving me this obsessive behavior, Glenn. Also, this older machine is VERY finicky about quarters. It will only take them if it feels like it. Most of the time it just drops your quarter into the change receptacle. It's almost impossible to get it to take three quarters in a row. When by some good fortune it does, I feel like running to get a Lottery ticket! LOL

Well, I presssed the two-digit code for my brownie very carefully and deliberately not to inadvertantly push the wrong code because we all know that the WRONG code will vend the LEAST desireable item in the machine every time. Well, the corkscrew turned. The brownie inched forward and then at the last moment just stuck approximately 1/100th of an inch from releasing. Of course, I pounded on the machine to no avail, the brownie mocking me through the glass. I so desperately wanted the brownie that I put in more money and selected the same code. Sure enough, my brownie fell to freedom along with a bag of Peanut Reeses Pieces behind. Oh, you also have a high probability that the second item you recieve in order to get your stuck item will not be very desireable.

LOL! At least you got TWO snacks. Usually when it happens to me I get ONE snack for the price of two :) How was the brownie, btw? ;)

The brownie was nice and chocolatey and sweet like a snack should be. LOL

The Reese's Pieces with Peanuts were just so-so. Definitely NOT chocolatey enough. ;)
