I'm Still Walking!

Wednesday, 27 Jul 2005 | Daily

Well, today marks the 3rd day of walking in the wee hours of the morning before leaving for work.

I am feeling better already. I feel more sure footed and have a boost of energy throughout the day. I feel a sense of accomplishment. It's funny how such a small change can make a big difference. I just need to make this a habit.

I hate to admit it, but I feel a little sore in my feet, legs and even my arms and shoulders. But it's a good sore. The kind that tells your brain you've done beneficial for your body, not the kind that is a major alarm signifying you have overdone.

I think my walks will be beneficial when I go to Hawaii in a couple of weeks. I plan to take walks there in the beautiful surroundings. It will also help me to have energy to tour all the cool attractions. I know I'll need the extra stamina to tote my camera and tripod to get all those neat photographs to remember my trip.

Wow, how driven you are! How far do you walk each morning?

Btw, how hot is it in your area? I read in BBC News that there's been US fatalities due to the heatwave, and I remember you writing about a heatwave a few entries back.

I'm walking for a half hour each morning. It's not that much, but it's enough to make a difference. ;)

It has been as hot as 120 degrees in Palm Springs where I work. The past few days have been in the 107 to 111 degree range.

Yes, doing something is better than nothing! I'm cheering you on, Michael! :D

Wow, I hope that you are in comfortable places during that heat!

Kat - Thanks for the support for my walking! :D

Oh, I am usually indoors during the hottest part of the day, so not to worry. The only time it's typically bad is when I get in the car to go to lunch and to drive home. ;)
