Sweet Lumpy's BBQ

Sunday, 18 Sep 2005 | Family, Food, Restaurants

Today, Toni had a craving for some barbecue for lunch. So while I showered, she searched the internet for a good barbecue place to visit located in our area. She came up with a few choices, but the one that stood out to both of us was a place called Sweet Lumpy's BBQ in Old Town Temecula.

We tried the 4 Meat Sampler Platter which comes with Pork Ribs, Beef Brisket, Hotlink Sausage and Smoked Chicken. We chose BBQ Beans and Sweet Potato for the sides. It also came with Homemade Cornbread. Erin ordered a Pulled Pork Sandwich which came with French Fries and Cole Slaw. The barbecue sauce had a sweet and tangy flavor that I really enjoyed. All of the meats we tried were delicious. Erin's french fries were very good; crispy and nicely seasoned with the skin on they way I like them. There was plenty to eat for lunch and leftovers for dinner too. I'll have to go back again soon. Next time I'll take my camera to get a few photos to post. ;D

Erin liked Sweet Lumpy's BBQ so much she asked if we could go there for dinner on Tuesday when I'll have her again!

Cool, another great place to try now that we'll be in the area! We're moving to an apartment in Murrieta this weekend to wait until our house is finished (probably sometimes in November). Have you ever been to the duck pond in Temecula? A friend of my hubby's mentioned it and I was wondering if it's a nice place to go. We're so excited about moving to such a beautiful area! :-)

Shari - Yes, I've been to the Temecula Duck Pond many times. It's a very nice setting. You can get a wonderful view of it from Pat & Oscar's restaurant. I have taken many pictures there. We like to take our younger nieces and nephews there to feed the ducks. :)
