One billion songs have been legally downloaded from Apple Computer's iTunes Music Store.

The one billionth song, Coldplay's Speed of Sound anthem, was downloaded by Alex Ostrovsky of West Michigan. In recognition, Apple established a scholarship in Ostrovsky's name at the Juilliard School of Music, and he received a 20-inch-screen iMac, 10 iPods and a $10,000 gift card for the iTunes Music Store.
