Steak and Lobster

Tuesday, 21 Feb 2006 | Cooking, Family, Food

Last night I cooked dinner for Toni's parents. I had promised Toni's mom I would cook lobster for her someday and I figured it was due time to follow through. I bought West Australian cold water lobster tails because I love the milky white and sweet meat. I cut the lobster tails in half, applied olive oil and butter and grilled them meat side down and finished them in the oven. I served them with individual bowls of drawn butter. They were so good!

Along with the lobster, I served petite filet mignon steaks, baked potato with butter, sour cream and chives and sauteed balsamic mushrooms. I also served a 2001 Fetzer Gewurztraminer because Toni's mom likes a sweeter white wine. I had used this wine for the mushrooms. I like to serve the same wine I use as an ingredient. The dinner was a hit with everyone.

For dessert, I heated up some churros and served them with Breyers vanilla ice cream. I love Breyers vanilla ice cream because the ingredients are so pure and the taste is clean and refreshing.
