Erin's High School Graduation
Monday, 18 Jun 2007 | Family
I was so proud of Erin last Thursday night when she graduated from Woodcrest Christian High School with high honors. Toni and I loved the commencement ceremony because it was an intimate ceremony held at Harvest Christian Fellowship. Because the graduating class comprised just over 80 students, there was time for music, speeches, a sermon and a slide show. It also allowed for a smaller venue than typical of most high school graduations where five or six hundred graduates are honored outdoors with a football stadium as the venue.
It was also neat to see many of Erin's friends graduate. We have known quite a few of them for some time since they grew up and attended school together with Erin. I felt like a proud parent to Erin and also her friends I havecome to know over the years.
At the end of the month, Erin will be departing on a medical mission to Vietnam for almost four weeks. I know their team will complete a wonderful work there helping local doctors adminster vaccinations, medicine and medical treatment. I will miss her so much while she's away.
In the Fall, Erin will be attending UCR, Toni and my alma mater. She intends to pursue a career in the medical field int the future. Alas, my daughter has blossomed into a beautiful, intelligent young woman and I am very proud indeed.
