Captain EO Tribute

I was excited to hear Captain EO, a 3-D movie starring Michael Jackson and Angelica Huston was returning to Disneyland where it debuted in the 1980's. The film was directed by Francis Ford Coppola and produced by George Lucas. The return of Captain EO to Disneyland started on February 23, 2010.

For me, it brought back memories of seeing the film as a young adult. I had always wanted to see Michael Jackson perform live, but unfortunately never will due to his untimely death. At the D23 Expo, I saw the actual Captain EO outfit Michael Jackson wore for this film. I was amazed at how slim he must have been to fit into that costume.

As for the film, the sound and image quality is better than what I remember in the past. They used the original 70mm master for the Captain EO Tribute. The audience applauded during the viewing, I believe reminscing about viewing it during it's first Disneyland run.
