The famous roofline of the Tramway Gas Station recently renovated to be the home of the Official Palm Springs Visitors Center. The building, with its distinctive “flying wedge” roof, was designed by architect Albert Frey, one of the pre-eminent practitioners of the style of design that has come to be known as Palm Springs Modern. The gas station opened in 1965.
