This might be a dumb question, but is this a cropped image or some type of panoramic setting on your camera? (Wonderful picture, by the way!)

Belfathus - Of course that isn't a dumb question. This a series of shots that were stitched together to create the panorama. I think I used about five photographs for this.

Belfathus - You need to use a leveled tripod and position the lens correctly for best results. You can stitch the images together using various programs. Photoshop has a facility for creating panoramas, but I prefer Stitcher because it is more precise and gives a better result in most cases.
